SWIMMER OF THE WEEK Joni McGillis, Elms (Jr.) Junior Joni McGillis won a pair of individual events as well as guided the Blazers to a second and third place victory in two more team events in their tri-meet against Gordon and fellow GNAC opponent Regis. McGillis finished in first twice in the 50-yard freestyle (26.77) and the 50-yard butterfly (29.16). Later on, she swam a personal time of 25:42 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, which her team finished second and followed up with a personal time of 29:06 for the third place 200-yard medley relay team. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Kali Taylor, Regis (Fr.) First-year Kali Taylor won three individual events for the Pride, first winning the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 2:07.68. The 100-yard freestyle finish was very close as Taylor out-touched the second place swimmer by 1/100th of a second with a time of 58.23 seconds. Taylor held on to win the 500 freestyle by a quarter of a second with a mark of 5:53.46. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Maria Estrada, Albertus Magnus – Won the 100 Yard IM (1:10.55), the 100 yard breaststroke (1:21.52), 200 Yard Medley Relay (3rd leg) and the 200 Yard Freestyle relay (3rd leg) in a dual meet victory over SUNY Delhi.
Sophie Olander, Albertus Magnus - Won 500 yard Freestyle (6:42.44), 1000 yard Freestyle (13:48.87), 200 Yard Medley Relay (2nd leg), and the 200 Yard Freestyle relay(2nd leg) for the Falcons.
Alexia Grech, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Won three events during a double dual-meet against Husson and Plymouth State. Won the 50 yard free with a time of 28.00 seconds, and the 100 yard free after posting a time of 1:02.31. Also was a member of the winning 200 yard free relay team, and was on the 200 yard medley relay team that finished second.
Alina Niemczyk, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Won three events during a double dual-meet against Husson and Plymouth State. Won the 100 yard fly in a time of 1:05.89, and the 50 yard fly after posting a time of 29.92 seconds. Also was a member of the winning 200 yard free relay team, and was on the 200 yard medley relay team that finished second.
