SWIMMER OF THE WEEK Carli Quinlan, Simmons (Jr.) Junior Carli Quinlan won a pair of individual events to guide Simmons to an 163-105 victory over non-conference Westfield State University on Sunday afternoon. Quinlan anchored the Sharks 200-yard medley relay that placed first with time of 2:00.52 to begin the meet then claimed first place finishes in the 200 free (1:58.96) and the 100 IM (1:03.87). Quinlan capped off the meet anchoring the 200 free relay that ifnished two-tenths of a second ahead of Westfield to claim first place with a time of 1:50.02. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Alina Niemczyk, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fr.) First-year Alina Niemczyk paced the Blue Jays at the Blue Jay Pentathlon, finishing in fifth place. She tallied a total time of 3:16.76 and notched a time of 28.62 seconds in the 50 Fly, 33.71 seconds in the 50 Back, 36.54 seconds in the 50 Breaststroke, 28.83 seconds in the 50 Free and 1:09.06 in the 100 IM. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Kali Taylor, Regis – won three individual events during a double-dual meet hosted by Eastern Connecticut State and also involving UMass Dartmouth, winning the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:08.63, the 100 freestyle by almost one full second with a time of 59.33 seconds, and she followed that with an 11-second victory in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:56.90.
Kiley Matthews, Saint Joseph's (Maine) – Secured the only first-place result for the Monks in the 50-free (27.51), which was just 0.44 ahead of the runner-up.
