BOSTON, MA Courtney Wallace, a four-time First Team All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference catcher and the valedictorian of the Pine Manor College Class of 2010, has been named 2010 GNAC Woman of the Year.
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- In a classic pitcher's duel, Rivier College defeated Bowdoin College, 1-0, in the first round of the NCAA Softball Regional Tournament Thursday afternoon at Wellesley College. With the victory, the Raiders advance to Game #7, Friday, May 14, at 2pm against Eastern Connecticut State. The Polar Bears move to Game #5, Friday at 10am against Husson University.
Nashua, NH - The Rivier College Raiders earned the #5 seed in the 2010 NCAA Regional Tournament that will be held at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. The Raiders will face #4 seed Bowdoin College in the first round of the double elimination tournament.

Nashua, NH In a tightly contested GNAC Softball Championship game between Rivier College and Emerson College, it was the Raiders scoring on a Mandy Thornton (Hanover, MA) walk-off base hit up the middle in the eighth inning to give Rivier the 1-0 victory to claim the 2010 GNAC softball crown.
The 2010 GNAC Softball Playoff pairings are now available. The Rivier College Raiders clinched the first place seed with an outstanding conference record of 23-1, and an overall record of 30-2. St. Josephs (ME), Emerson, and Simmons rounded out the top four seeds in the eight team tournament.

BOSTON, MA- Lasell College softball stole the front end of a doubleheader from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason favorites Emerson College, 12-8, on Sunday afternoon, before suffering their first GNAC loss in the nightcap, 5-1.
Prior to their first meeting, the Norwich and Simmons softball teams were both tied in the GNAC pre-season coaches poll at a sixth place finish. In their 2010 match-up, Simmons came out with the offense in the first game winning 4-0, and broke it open in the second with a score of 11-3.
The Saint Joseph's College Softball Team came from behind in both games to defeat host Emmanuel College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) double-header played on Clemente Field this Saturday afternoon. The Saints held early leads in both contests, before the visiting Monks charged back to take 7-2 and 6-4 wins.
