GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Report: Week 3
Fatima St. Hilaire turned in another strong week for the Pride to earn back-to-back weekly honors.

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Ben Lane, Lasell (Sr., Rutland, Vt.) Lane took first place in two events at the Regis Spring Classic, the 100 and 200-meter dashes, and broke his own school record in the 100. He ran a time of 11.45 seconds in the preliminaries of the 100, and lowered it to 11.34 seconds in the finals, bettering his own school record of 11.39 seconds set last year. He also ran a 23 seconds flat to win the 200 meters. There were 22 sprinters in the 100 and 30 in the 200. |

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Fatima St. Hilaire, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., Dorchester, Mass.) St. Hilaire continued to rewrite the Regis record book at the Regis Spring Classic Friday. For the second straight week, she posted a faster time in the 100 meter dash to improve on the school record, finishing first in the preliminaries in 12.76 seconds, 0.02 seconds quicker than the mark she posted last week at Tufts. It would turn out to be the fastest time in the 100 meter dash, combining preliminaries and finals. She did not compete in the finals because she was concentrating on the long jump, an event she won with a top mark of 5.34 meters (17' 6.25"), a half-meter further than her nearest competitor. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Suffolk (Fr. - St. Louis, Mo.) Csiki-Fejer finished first in the 800M at the Regis Spring Classic with a time of 1:59.80 in a 31-runner field. He also won the 800M at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at Fitchburg St. with a time of 2:00.05 in a 28-runner field. |

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Allison Rodrigues, Suffolk (Fr., North Andover, Mass.) Rodrigues competed in the javelin throw (1st out of 19; 34.81 M), discus toss (5th out of 23; 29.45 M) and shot put (6th out of 27; 10.39 M) at the Regis Spring Classic, while also finishing third in the javelin throw (3rd out of 29; 32.73 M) and 16th in discus throw (16th out of 40; 26.88 M) at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational. |
WEEK 3 HONOR ROLL
Amanda Martin, Colby-Sawyer (Sr., Amesbury, Mass.) - Martin qualified for the New England Championships in the triple jump with an impressive performance at the Southern New Hampshire Spring Invitational. She achieved a distance of 10.70 meters to finish third out of seven jumpers. She also was the lead leg of the 4x400 relay team that finished third out of five behind SNHU and Merrimack.
Caleigh Blackmer, Emmanuel Fr., Warwick, R.I.) - Blackmer broke the school record and placed first at the Carla Coffey Track & Field Invitational at Smith College on April 6th with a best throw of 37.27 meters.
Haley Boisvert, Emmanuel (Fr., Merrimack, N.H.) - Boisvert placed first in the 400 meter spring at the Carla Coffey Track & Field Invitational at Smith College with a time of 1:05.56, which was also a personal record. She also placed fifth in the 200 meter with a time of 29.20 seconds.
Trevor Hajj, Emmanuel (So., Gilmanton, N.H.) - Hajj was able to record a new personal record in the javelin with a best throw of 28.34 meters for a 17th place finish and finished in first place in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.46 at the Carla Coffer Track & Field Invitational at Smith College.
Amie Knowles, Emmanuel (Jr., Seabrook, N.H.) - Knowles was able to record a new personal record in all three of her throws on Saturday at the Carla Coffey Track & Field Invitational at Smith College. She places fifth in the shot put with a best throw of 9.28 meters, seventh place in the discus with a best throw of 23.23 meters, and fourth place in the hammer throw with a best throw of 25.52 meters.
Joseph Reed, Emmanuel (Fr., Rehoboth, Mass.) - Reed was able to finish in fourth place in the triple jump with 11.97mw and finished in fourteenth place in the 400 meter with a time of 57.41 in the Carla Coffee Track & Field Invitational at Smith College.
Alahna Mild, Lasell (Fr., Bar Harbor, Maine) - Mild posted a pair of best times in the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the Regis Spring Classic. She ran the 100 in 14.03 seconds to place 15th out of 36 racers and finished the 200 in 30.08 seconds to place 17th out of 39.
Christian Hendricks, Regis (Mass.) Fr., Edgewater, Md.) - Hendricks helped Regis finish in third place at its own home meet this past Friday. First, he led the Pride in the 800 meter run, finishing third overall with a time of 2:06.60. He then anchored the 4x400 meter relay, racing from the back of the pack to a fourth place finish for the team, which posted a total time of 3:56.97.
Ashleigh Kelley, Regis (Mass.) Fr., Stoneham, Mass.) - Kelley helped Regis to a third place finish at the Regis Spring Classic last Friday. She picked up 10 points by winning the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:07.82, over 11 seconds quicker than the time she posted two weeks ago at Wesleyan and 5.35 seconds in front of the second-place finisher. It was also just over a second off the school record. Kelley also finished seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:39.07.
Matthew Malone, Regis (Mass.) Sr., West Roxbury, Mass.) - Malone helped the Regis men to a third place finish at the Regis Spring Classic this past Friday. He posted a qualifying time for the Division III New England Championships in the 110 meter high hurdles, finishing second in both the preliminaries at 15.95 seconds and in the finals at 16.26 seconds. He also finished seventh in the long jump with a top mark of 5.44 meters (17' 10.25").
Marshall Berninghausen, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Sr., Brasher Falls, N.Y.) - Berninghausen topped his team hammer throw record by over two meters and placed eighth overall (fifth among DIII throwers) with a 45.70 meter heave in the Jim Sheehan Memorial at Fitchburg State on Saturday.
Troy Hendricks, Saint Joesph's (Me.) (Fr., Hiram, Maine) - Hendricks was third in the 3000-Meter steeplechase (10:23.96) and ninth in the 800-Meter run (2:09.66) at the Jim Feehan Memorial at Fitchburg State on Saturday. The freshman distance runner shattered his own team record in the 3000-Meter steeplechase by nearly 13 seconds.
Mariama Kamara, Suffolk (Jr., Chelsea, Mass.) - 2nd in the 100 M Dash at Regis Spring Classic with a time of 12.93 out of 36 competitors 1st in the 100 M Dash at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at Fitchburg with a time of 13.12 (field of 42)
