Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Report – Week 1

Player of the Week
Alex Hadlock (Framingham, Mass.), Sophomore, 1^st Singles/1^st Doubles, Emmanuel College
Hadlock posted a combined 5-1 record on the week going 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles action out of the first spot. The sophomore helped the Saints open the year with a 9-0 sweep over Wentworth Institute of Technology and picked up the win at No. 1 singles action vs. Endciott to pick up the Saints only win in an 8-1 defeat against the Gulls. Hadlock also notched a singles and doubles victory against UMass Dartmouth in non-conference action.

Rookie of the Week
Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.), Freshman, 3^rd Singles/1^st Doubles, Simmons College
Cokely enjoyed a great start to her collegiate career by posting a combined 4-0 record for Simmons. The rookie helped the Sharks collect 5-4 victories over Mount Holyoke and Clark by registering wins in both singles and doubles action, dominating play out of the third singles spot vs. Clark with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
