Simmons Tennis Set for NCAA Tournament
The Simmons College womens tennis team, ranked 25th among Northeast Division III programs, will head to Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts where they will face Vassar College on Friday at 11:00AM. Simmons went 12-6 this season, receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship by winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference title with a 7-0 record. Vassar went 17-4 and won the Liberty League Championship. The winner of the Vassar-Simmons match will move on to play host and defending National Champion Williams on Saturday.

The 2009 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships
provides for a 47-team tournament. The teams will play a
single-elimination tournament with the first, second and third
rounds played at regional sites, May 8-10. Oglethorpe
University and the Gwinnett Sports Commission will co-host the team
championships finals, which will be held May 19-21 at Collins Hill
Athletic Club in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Student-athletes
selected to the individual championships will be announced
Wednesday, May 6.
