GNAC Men's Tennis Report: Week 1
ENC'S Diego Rodriguez and Colby-Sawyer's Griffin Forberg have earned GNAC Week 1 honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Diego Rodriguez, Eastern Nazarene (So. - Barquisimeto, Venezuela) Rodriguez posted a 7-1 overall record, posting a 3-0 mark at the No. 4 singles position while teaming with Sven Grunenwald to register a 4-1 mark at the No. 2 doubles spot as Eastern Nazarene went 3-2 to start the spring in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Rodriguez did not drop a set in singles action on the week. |

CO- ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Griffin Forberg, Colby-Sawyer (Fr - Fairfield, Conn.) - Forberg began the week by helping the Chargers to a 5-4 victory over Monmouth. He and his doubles partner Erik Antonacci combined for an 8-2 win at the third spot. Forberg then took his No. 4 singles match in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. The freshman then went 1-1 in the team's 5-4 win over DeSales. He dropped a tough doubles match in a tie break, but then rebounded with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win in singles. In a close 5-4 loss to Roger Williams, Forberg was responsible for two the of the team's points. He and Antonacci edged their doubles opponents 8-5 and then Forberg posted a 6-1, 5-7, 10-3 win in singles. In the team's third 5-4 win of the week, this time over Illinois Wesleyan, Forberg again provided a pair of points. He and Antonacci posted an 8-3 win at the third doubles spot, while Forberg cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win at the fourth singles flight. In the week finale, an 8-1 loss to a very good Rhodes team, Forberg and Antonacci came away with the team's lone point with an 8-7 (7-0) win at third doubles. |

CO- ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Sven Grunenwald, Eastern Nazarene (Fr. - Winden, Germany) - Grunenwald compiled a 7-1 overall record on the week as Eastern Nazarene posted a 3-2 mark in Hilton Head Island, S.C. during its spring break trip. Grunenwald posted a 3-0 mark in singles action while teaming with Diego Rodriguez to notch a 4-1 mark in doubles play. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Tim Santy, Norwich (So. - San Antonio, Texas) - Santy went 4-3 at No. 2 singles and had a 2-5 record at No. 1 doubles for the Cadets.
