GNAC Cross Country Report: Week 3
Norwich first-year runner India Jones took home her first-ever GNAC Women's Runner of the Week distinction, along with her third weekly rookie award in as many weeks.

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK David Kavanaugh, Saint Joseph (CT) (Jr., West Hartford, Conn.) - Kavanaugh claimed his third career first-place finish and registered back-to-back victories at the Blue Jay Invitational after breaking the tape and besting the field Friday afternoon at the 2021 USJ Blue Jay Invitational. Kavanaugh jumped out to an early lead and was never threatened in the 5K meet at home around the campus of USJ, finishing with a time of 17:04.9 to take the gold medal. His result helped aid the Blue Jays to first-place team result to boot, as USJ defended its home course against Dean, Mitchell and Lasell. |

WOMEN'S RUNNER / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK India Jones, Norwich (Fr., Mont Vernon, N.H.) - Jones led the Cadets for the third straight week with a fifth place finish in 24:31.9 at Saturday's Aldrich Invitational 6k, hosted by Middlebury College. Her finish helped the team secure fourth place with 103 points. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Braeden Laframboise, Saint Joseph (CT) (Fr., Southington, Conn.) - Laframboise finished runner-up in his second career collegiate meet, claiming the silver medal on Friday afternoon at the USJ Blue Jay Invitational with a final 5K time of 17:19.6. Laframboise finished just behind teammate David Kavanaugh on the Blue Jays' home course and helped USJ claim a first-place team result in its annual home meet around campus defeating Dean College, Mitchell College, and Lasell University. Laframboise averaged a 5:34.6 mile pace to earn the runner-up result. |
HONOR ROLL
Dylan Flewelling , Colby-Sawyer (Fr., Oakland, Maine) - Flewelling ran his second Best 8K Time in School History at UMass Dartmouth.
Shannon O'Connell, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, Peabody, Mass.) - Placed 42nd at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
Aly Richard, Lasell (Fr., New Hartford, Conn.) - Richard was the individual champion Friday at the USJ Blue Jay Invitational, leading Lasell to the team title among four schools, including two other GNAC schools (USJ, Dean). She completed the 5K course in 22 minutes and five seconds, a pace of 7:08 per mile and more than a minute faster than her previous best time this season. She was 25 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Mitchell sophomore Lara Jacobs (22:30).
Joshua Beeghley, Norwich (So.) - Beeghley led the NU men with a 26th place finish in 30:14.3 at Saturday's Aldrich Invitational 8k, hosted by Middlebury College. The Cadet men finished fourth with 117 points.
Samantha Molinari , Rivier (Sr., Litchfield, NH) - Molinari finished in 38th of 234 runners in the varsity women's 5k this weekend. She completed a lifetime personal best during the run, finishing in just 19:25.40.
