WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: GNAC Announces All-Conference & Major Awards
Winthrop, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) office announced their major awards/all-conference teams on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 18). Voting was conducted for each of the major awards and all-conference teams by the league's 14 head coaches before postseason play had begun.
Emmanuel's Isabella Marquez was voted Player of the Year while her teammate Kason Huynh won Setter of the Year. Lasell's Madeline Caro collected her second Libero of the Year award. Meanwhile, Regis' Eva Catalanotto collected Rookie of the Year honors while Emmanuel Head Coach Bori May was voted Coach of the Year by his peers. Norwich University was this year's Institutional Sportsmanship recipient. Full list of honorees below.
Player of the Year
Isabella Marquez, Emmanuel (Sr.)
Emmanuel senior outside hitter Isabella Marquez has been selected as the GNAC Player of the Year after a standout season leading the Saints’ attack in a remarkable 28-2 season (13-0 GNAC). Marquez totaled 283 kills, placing third in the GNAC and averaged 3.37 kills per set, ranking second in the GNAC and 22nd nationally in that category, while hitting an efficient .263 on 681 swings. She added 296.5 points, 104 digs, and steady all-around play that made her one of the conference’s most reliable and dangerous hitters. A true offensive anchor, Marquez caps her career with the league’s top honor.
Libero of the Year
Madeline Caro, Lasell (Sr.)
Lasell Senior Madeline Caro has been selected as the GNAC Libero of the Year after anchoring the Lasers’ defense with one of the top back-row performances in the nation. Caro totaled 303 digs on the season, averaging 3.65 digs per set, ranking ninth nationally in digs per set and 39th in total digs in NCAA Division III. A steady, reliable, and elite presence in serve-receive and defensive coverage, Caro capped her senior season as one of the premier liberos in the country. Caro received Libero of the Week once (Sept. 29).
Setter of the Year
Kason Huynh, Emmanuel (Jr.)
Emmanuel Junior Kason Huynh has been named the GNAC Setter of the Year after orchestrating one of the conference’s most dynamic offenses. Huynh totaled 741 assists on the season, averaging 7.48 assists per set, placing 3rd in the GNAC in this category, while adding 84 kills, 28 aces, and 279 digs to showcase her all-around impact. She also ranked 20th nationally in triple-doubles, highlighting her versatility and consistency at the highest level. A true floor general, Huynh proved to be the engine behind the Saints’ success in 2025. Huynh received Setter of the Week three times this past season (Oct. 13, Nov. 3, Nov. 10).
Rookie of the Year
Eva Catalanotto, Regis (Fr.)
Freshman Eva Catalanotto has been selected as the GNAC Rookie of the Year after an outstanding debut season for the Pride. Catalanotto delivered 254 kills and averaged 2.13 kills per set, while hitting an impressive .280, finishing 2nd in the GNAC in hitting percentage—an exceptional mark for any player, let alone a first-year. Across 33 matches and 119 sets, she also totaled 349 points, showcasing her all-around impact and efficiency. Catalanotto quickly established herself as one of the league’s most reliable attackers and one of the top newcomers in the conference. Catalanotto received GNAC Rookie of the Week 5 times (Sep. 14, Sep. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19, Nov. 3) and GNAC Player of the Week once (Nov. 3).
Coach of the Year
Bori May, Emmanuel
Head Coach Bori May has been selected as the GNAC Coach of the Year after leading the Saints to a remarkable 28-2 season that included an undefeated conference record (13-0) and the No. 1 overall seed in the GNAC Tournament. Under May’s leadership, Emmanuel delivered one of the most complete and consistent performances in the league, excelling on both sides of the ball and showcasing impressive depth and development across the roster. The Saints rode out a 23-match win streak before concluding their season in the conference semifinals.
