WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Rivier's Racevicius, Pollard Honored by GNAC Coaches
Rivier grad student standouts Sydney Racevicius and Avery Pollard have been selected as the 2022 GNAC Player and Setter of the Year, respectively.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Following our annual voting by the league's head coaches, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference is pleased to unveil its 2022 GNAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Teams, as announced on Tuesday.
After going 13-0 in GNAC play en route to the top seed in the conference tournament, Rivier University graduate student Sydney Racevicius has been named GNAC Player of the Year, while fellow Raiders grad student Avery Pollard earned GNAC Setter of the Year honors.
Racevicius claimed three GNAC Player of the Week awards, leading the league with 418 overall kills (4.02 per set) to go with a GNAC-topping 45 service aces versus league opponents. Her teammate Pollard was a four-time GNAC Setter of the Week, boasting a conference-best 9.34 assists per set.
Johnson & Wales University (RI) senior Emily Corbett was named GNAC Tournament MVP on Saturday after leading the Wildcats to its seventh straight GNAC Championship. The defensive specialist from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. was also selected as the 2022 GNAC Libero of the Year behind an average of 5.02 digs per set.
From Lasell University, which went 10-3 in the GNAC to nail down the No. 3 playoff seed, freshman Maddie Caro (3.83 digs per set) was voted GNAC Rookie of the Year and head coach Jeffrey Vautrin was voted the GNAC Coach of the Year.
