Track Athlete Of The Week
Ava Smart, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Jr.)
Junior Ava Smart led the Monks with a standout performance, running a DIII New England qualifying time of 26.59 in the 200m to place sixth and break the program record. She also helped set another program record in the 4x100 relay (51.53) with a third-place finish and contributed to a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay, capping a strong all-around meet.
Field Athlete of the Week
Alexis Cowan, Saint Joseph (Maine) (Jr.)
Junior Alexis Cowan delivered the top women’s field performance for Saint Joseph’s, recording a DIII New England provisional mark of 5.10m (16’ 8.75”) in the long jump. She also ran 13.68 in the 100m and posted 9.94m in the triple jump, contributing across multiple events, and now leads the conference in the long jump.
Rookie Of The Week
Alisha Gomes, Emmanuel (Fr.)
Freshman Alisha Gomes placed eighth in the 100 meters at the Sean Collier Invitational with a DIII New England Qualifying time of 12.76 seconds.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Teddy Pollack, Colby-Sawyer - Pollack hit a DIII New England Qualification at the Trinity Invitational this past weekend where she got a new personal best in the Hammer Throw, by over four meters. Teddy threw 41.23m to now take a 5.5m lead in the conference rankings where she would place 5th overall in an extremely competitive field.
Julianna Huckans, Lasell - Huckans finished 18th in the Pole Vault and 12th in the Long Jump in competitive fields at the Sean Collier Invite. She jumped 2.66m in the vault, improving her own GNAC leading mark and her own school record in the process, and 5.03m in the Long Jump, which ranks her third in the GNAC.
Zoe Kirk, Regis - Kirk continued her dominance in the hurdles, taking first in the 100-meter hurdles at the BSU invitational with a time of 15.96.
Olivea Miller, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Miller posted a strong sprint weekend for the Monks, running a DIII New England qualifying time of 12.90 in the 100 meters and adding another qualifier in the 200 meters with a time of 26.80. She also cleared 1.43m (4' 8.25") in the high jump to add a third event to a productive meet. Miller now ranks 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, and tied for first in the High Jump going into championship weekend.
Talya Mendez-DeGraw, Simmons - Mendez-DeGraw broke her own long jump record in a big way as the newcomer measured at 4.99m which was over .20m than her jump in early April. Elevating their 4x100m relay record once again was Isatu Fofanah, Mendez-DeGraw, Carolyn Dorman, and Jayla James who put together a time of 51.25. Mendez-DeGraw blew past a 30 year old school record in the 60m dash (13.00) thanks to an incredible time of 12.93. She recorded the 11th best time out of nearly 40 runners.
