Track Athlete Of The Week
Olivia Costa, Emmanuel (So.)
Sophomore Olivia Costa continued her strong spring by posting a conference-leading time of 1:09.99 to finish second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Meet. She also placed fourth in the 400 meters in 1:01.68, which set the top time in the GNAC this season as well.
Field Athlete of the Week
Ellie Leech, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So.)
Sophomore Ellie Leech led the women’s field group with a first-place finish in the javelin at 35.68m (117' 1"), a mark that met the Provisional DIII New England standard, and added a third-place finish in the shot put with a school record-breaking toss of 10.43m (34' 2.75"). Leech now leads the conference in the Javelin Throw.
Rookie Of The Week
Zoe Kirk, Regis (Fr.)
Freshman Zoe Kirk recorded a pair of top-ten finishes, placing sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.56 and fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.47 meters. Her 100m hurdle performance ranks second all-time and is the fastest by a first-year in program history, while her high jump mark stands as a program record.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Leah O'Neill, Colby-Sawyer - O'Neill would come away with a 30 second outdoor personal best, and 7 second career best in the 5000m run this past weekend. Leah would cross the line in a time of 19:27.75 to win the meet while also taking the top spot in the conference performance list.
Teddy Pollack, Colby-Sawyer - Pollack would have a career week this past weekend in Fitchburg. She would record two new personal bests in Shot Put and Hammer. Teddy would throw a distance of 38.48m in hammer to be the top GNAC competitor of the day and finish fourth overall. She would also finish 7th in shot put.
Ava Fisher, Emmanuel - Fisher finished second in the shotput (10.74m) and 10th in the hammer throw (33.88m), both which place her second atop conference leaderboards.
Molly Hough, Emmanuel - Hough won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:37.19, a mark that continues to lead the GNAC this spring.
Audrey Bilodeau, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Bilodeau paced the Monks on the track with a third-place finish and Provisional DIII New England qualifying time of 16.01 in the 100-meter hurdles, then added a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:10.21. Bilodeau also helped lead the Monks to a runner-up finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:21.89. After this weekend, Bilodeau leads the conference in the 100-meter Hurdles and sits second in the 400-meter hurdles.
Meghan Cyr, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Cyr delivered a record-setting performance in the 10k meters, finishing second in 42:45.49 to set a new program record and take over the top spot in the GNAC this season.
Talya Mendez-DeGraw, Simmons - Mendez-DeGraw led the way in the 100m dash, clocking a time of 13.16 to place 12th out of 63 competitors. In the field events, Mendez-DeGraw added a 12th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.72 meters to demolish the previous school record of 4.39m also set over 30 years ago in '95. The 4x100m relay team (Fofanah, Mendez-DeGraw, Dorman, and James) delivered a standout performance, placing fourth overall with a time of 51.50, besting a program record of 51.69 set back in 1995.
