JWU Looks To Claim Indoor Track & Field Championship in Inaugural Season; Tabbed Favorites In Pre-Championship Poll
WINTHROP, Mass. – The 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with representatives from Colby-Sawyer, Emmanuel, Johnson & Wales (Women’s), Lasell, Regis, Saint Joseph's (Maine), and Simmons (Women’s) will be competing.
In preparation for Sunday's championship event, the league's seven Women’s Indoor Track & Field head coaches conducted a Pre-Championship Poll with new-comer Johnson & Wales picked as the favorite to win the event. The Wildcats head into this upcoming Sunday with five first-place votes, totaling 47 points to claim the top spot.
Last year’s GNAC Champion Emmanuel College earned the remaining two first-place votes and collected 44 points as the Saints are projected for a second-place finish.
Saint Joseph’s (Maine) heads into the third spot on the pre-championship poll, collecting 27 points.
Last year’s runner-up Colby-Sawyer and Regis both tie up at the fourth slot with 25 points apiece. Simmons, who will compete in their first-ever GNAC track and field championship Sunday, comes in sixth with 21 points followed by Lasell who rounded out the poll with seven.
The GNAC Championships will feature 16 scoring events. The event order is available below.
