GNAC Swimming & Diving Report: Week 7

Will Thompson, Norwich (So., Downington, Pa.) - Thompson had a career day for the Cadets in a dominant 191-29 win over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, earning two individual victories. First, he broke an eight-year old pool record by a millisecond in the 50 yard breaststroke with a 26.97 time, before securing another win in the 100 yard freestyle to close out a streak of nine-straight individual victories for the Cadets. To kick off the day's festivities, Thompson was a part of the winning relay team in the 200 yard medley, which gave Norwich its first victory of the afternoon.

Nikky Avise, Norwich (Sr., Owens Cross Roads, Ala.) - Avise continued her tear through competition in a huge 168-114 team win over Colby-Sawyer on her Senior Day, scooping up three individual victories. First, the senior claimed both the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard freestyle. She would close her afternoon by breaking an eight-year old pool record in the 50 yard butterfly with a 26.25 time, capturing the record by nine milliseconds and furthering Norwich's chances of victory over the Chargers

Adrian Riendeau, Norwich (Fr., Ridgecrest, Calif.) - Riendeau was a key cog in Norwich's 191-29 win over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, first serving as the opening leg of the winning A-relay team in the 200 yard medley relay. The freshman then gave the Cadets their first individual victory on the men's side, capturing the 200 yard freestyle, before eventually closing the afternoon as the final leg in the winning B-relay team in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
