Saint Josephs (Maine) Edges Out Emmanuel In Preseason Coaches Poll
Saint. Josephs College (Maine) edged out the 2007 GNAC champions Emmanuel College by earning 135 points in the womens soccer preseason poll, while Emmanuel earned 134 points to come in a close second.

Boston, Mass. – Saint. Joseph’s College (Maine) edged
out the 2007 GNAC champions Emmanuel College by earning 135 points
in the women’s soccer preseason poll, while Emmanuel earned
134 points to come in a close second.
St. Joe’s comes off the 2007 season with a program best
record of 16-2-3. Top returning players include sophomore Elizabeth
Theberge (Danvers, MA), junior Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) and
sophomore Mikayla Call (Portland, ME), all members of the GNAC
All-Conference First Team. Second Team All-GNAC returnees include
junior Brianna Jordan (Scarborough, ME), sophomore Jessica Needham
(E. Bridgewater, MA) and senior Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA).
Emmanuel College Saints (17-3-2) finished a close second in the
preseason polls. The Saints finished the 2007 season as GNAC
regular season and tournament champions. Norwich and Emerson picked
up third and fourth place votes, respectively.
