WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Rivier's Grumblatt Voted GNAC Player and Rookie of the Year

WINTHROP, Mass. – Rivier University first-year guard Lyric Grumblatt, who is tied as the Division III scoring leader with 26.2 points per game, has been voted the 2022 GNAC Player and Rookie of the Year, as announced on Monday by the league office. 

The All-GNAC First Team selection averaged 26.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the Raiders, who impressively earned the No. 6 seed in the GNAC Tournament. She shot 42.8% overall, 38.3% from three, and 84.5% from the FT line.

She was joined on the 2022 First Team by Albertus Magnus College first-year Jakara Murray-Leach, Emmanuel College senior Loredana D'Agostino, Regis College junior Pam Gonzalez, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine senior Cassandra Stapelfeld. 

D'Agostino was also selected as the 2022 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year, as voted upon by the league's head coaches, while Saints longtime head coach Andy Yosinoff was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints to their third straight GNAC title and NCAA berth.
