GNAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 4
Lasell's Meg Carroll averaged a gaudy 33.5 points and 17.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Lasers to earn GNAC Player of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Meg Carroll, Lasell (Sr., F - Douglas, Mass.) - Carroll averaged a ridiculous 33.5 points and 17.5 rebounds, shooting 62.2% from the field (28-45) and 61.1% from the FT line (11-18) in a 2-0 week for the Lasers. In Tuesday's non-conference win over Northern Vermont at Johnson, she poured in 39 points (15-24 FG, 9-14 FT) while bringing down 20 rebounds (11 offensive). In Thursday's conference opener against Rivier, she scored 28 points (13-24 FG, 2-4 FT) and grabbed 15 rebounds (six offensive) in the victory. She also had a pair of blocks in each win and committed just three turnovers.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Haley Brewster, Norwich (Fr., G - Virginia Beach, Va.) - Brewster averaged an impressive 29.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Cadets to capture her second GNAC Rookie of the Week honor in a three-week span. The first-year shot 50% from the floor (15-30), 41.7% from three (5-12) and a stellar 88.9% from the FT line (24-27). In a 73-57 GNAC victory over Colby-Sawyer, she poured in 30 on 8-of-14 shooting and a 12-of-13 performance at the charity stripe to go with 14 boards in just 25 minutes. In a setback against NEWMAC foe Wellesley, she followed up with 29 points (7-16 FG, 3-7 3PT, 12-13 FT) and 12 rebounds while playing 39 of 40 minutes.

HONOR ROLL
Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria (Fr., F - Tampa, Fla.) - Reddin played all 40 minutes for Anna Maria on Saturday in the AMCATS' 55-40 win over JWU, scoring 17 points with 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
Emily Parent, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, G - Oakland, Maine) - In a three-game week, Parent averaged 16.7 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 45.5% from the floor (15-33), 50% from three-point range (14-28) and a perfect 6-of-6 from the FT line., Parent started the week with an 11-point, three-assist game against Elms before registering 18 points and 21 points, respectively, against Norwich and Hamilton at the Ed Hockenbury Tournament.
McKenzie Huria, Elms (Senior, G) - Huria averaged 18.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week, including a 30-point putburst (11-19 FG, 3-6 3PT, 5-5 FT) in a GNAC win at Colby-Sawyer.
Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., G - Revere, Mass.) - Gonzalez led Regis to consecutive conference victories over the past week, notching her 10th and 11th career double-doubles. Wednesday against Dean, she finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists, a steal, and a blocked shot in just 21 minutes on the court. Saturday against Elms, she finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocked shots, scoring 12 second half points as the Pride pulled away from the Blazers. She was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line during the week to extend her consecutive made free throw streak to 15. Gonzalez has now earned double-doubles in four of the last five games.
Jordan Ouellette, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., G/F - Bristol, Conn.) - Ouellette poured in a career-high 22 points and grabbed eight caroms in the Blue Jays' lone game of the week, a 71-61 setback to intrastate opponent Western Connecticut on Tuesday evening. Ouellette netted 15 of her career-high 22 points to fuel a second-half comeback as the Blue Jays got as close as four against WestConn after a sluggish start where they trailed by as many as 23 in the second quarter. In 28 minutes of floor time, Ouellette shot 58.8% (10-17) from the field and 40.0% (2-5) from the charity stripe on the night, while pulling down eight rebounds and recording a pair of steals.
Cassandra Stapelfeld, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Senior, G - Brookline, N.H.) - Stapelfeld averaged 19.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in a pair of SJC victories last week. The senior guard netted 22 points with three caroms in a triumph over Thomas on Wednesday and added 17 points, five boards, and four assists in a victory over Albertus Magnus on Saturday. For the week, Stapelfeld shot 45.2% (14-31) from the floor, 66.7% (6-9) from three-point distance, and 83.3% (5-6) from the FT line.
