In a 5-0 week, JWU's Kaelani Gamble hit .647 (11-17) with a .650 OBP and 1.294 slugging for an eye-popping 1.944 OPS.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kaelani Gamble, Johnson and Wales (RI) (Sr., IF/C - Vancouver, Wash.) - In a 5-0 week, Gamble hit .647 (11-17) with a .650 OBP and 1.294 slugging for an eye-popping 1.944 OPS. Of her 11 hits, seven went for extra bases (2 HR, 5 2B), and she also registered four runs scored and 12 RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK Annika Beebe, Norwich (So., P/UT - Marianna, Fla.) - Beebe had an impressive season debut at the plate and in the circle to lead Norwich to a 3-3 week at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Beebe went 3-1 on the mound, throwing complete-game wins in all three of her starts. She registered 31 strikeouts (14 walks) and a 1.54 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched. At the plate, Beebe had a hit in every game but one, compiling a 1.076 OPS with a home run and six RBI. Her home run vs. Dean sparked a big comeback as the Cadets trailed 3-0 in the middle innings before her inside-the-park blast ignited the offense in the win. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Skylar Arent, Albertus Magnus (Fr., P - New Fairfield, Conn.) - Arent opened the spring campaign earning her first "W" in the circle following the Falcons' 7-1 win against St. Joseph's (L.I.) this past Sunday. The right-hander threw a complete game where she allowed only one run on nine hits while striking out five batters. She also threw for one inning in the Falcons' 8-6 win over Lancaster Bible and allowed only two hits. At the plate, she finished the week with a slash line of .333/.333/.667 behind one hit, a double, two RBI, and a run scored. |
GNAC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Jayden Dow, Elms (First Year, P) - Dow posted a 0.93 ERA with eight strikeouts and eight walks in 15.0 innings of work, throwing complete games in both of her starts.
Eryn Sheeley, Lasell (So., P/1B - North Haven, Conn.) - Sheeley did now allow a run in 6.2 innings last week, striking out 10 while allowing just four hits and three walks. After fanning four in 2.2 innings of relief at Roger Williams, she got the victory against Beloit after striking out six in 4.0 innings of work.
Amanda Savinelli, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., P/INF - New Haven, Conn.) - Savinelli picked up the win inside the circle in both of USJ's season-opening contests on Sunday in Myrtle Beach at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. In USJ's first game of the 2022 campaign, the score knotted at 5-5, and the game headed to extra innings, Savinelli made her first appearance for the Blue Jay. She came in and spun a pair of clean innings without allowing a hit and struck out a pair as the Blue Jays prevailed, 6-5, over Rutgers-Newark. She followed that up and made her first start in the nightcap versus Sarah Lawrence and tossed four innings while allowing just one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
Ashley Emery, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, OF - Madison, Maine) - Emery hit .476 (10-21) with three runs, a double, three stolen bases, and an RBI in seven games in Leesburg, Florida last week. The senior outfielder notched four multiple-hit performances, including a 3-for-4 effort in a 10-2 victory over MCLA on Friday.
Meredith Pence, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Junior, P - Remington, Va.) - Pence posted a 1.75 ERA with 15 strikeouts (nine walks) in 16.0 innings last week. She capped the Monks' Florida trip with a hard-luck 1-0 loss versus Bethany (W.V.), as the southpaw fanned six and allowed one earned run off seven hits in six innings.
Shannon McMahon, Simmons (Senior, C - El Cajon, Calif.) - McMahon hit .381 (8-21) ith two doubles, a triple, one home run and seven RBI, while posting a 1.214 OPS (.500 OBP, .715 SLG) from the middle of the Shark lineup. Midway through the week, the San Diego native drove in a season-best three runs against RPI going 2-for-3 with a double and triple. Additionally, she is registered a hit in six of seven games. Defensively, McMahon tied her career single-game best recording six putouts behind the plate in a 7-2 victory over regional foe Westfield State. She currently leads the GNAC with seven RBI on the young season.
