GNAC Men's Volleyball Report: Week 10
Rivier's Sokunbuth Ly averaged 3.50 kills per set while hitting an impressive .412 in a 2-0 week for the Raiders.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Sokunbuth Ly, Rivier (Gr., OH - Lowell, Mass.) - Ly topped the Raiders in all offensive statistical categories last week, averaging 3.50 kills and 0.88 digs per set while hitting .412 in two wins. He finished the week with 28 kills on just seven errors, and defensively had 27 receptions with just three errors. After registering 13 kills (.409) in a 3-1 win over Division-I independent American Int'l on Wednesday, he had 15 more kills (.414) in a key 3-1 GNAC victory over rival Lasell. |

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Marcello Cappuccio, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., DS - Scotch Plains, N.J.) - Cappuccio reached double figures in digs during all four Regis matches over the past week, averaging 3.79 per set in a 2-2 week. Tuesday, he collected 16 digs as the Pride swept Elms. Thursday, he finished with 15 digs and five assists against Eastern Nazarene, plus he made just one reception error on 29 receptions. Saturday against Elms, he did not make a reception error in 17 chances, plus he earned 11 digs as the Pride swept the Blazers again. Cappuccio finished the day with another 11-dig performance against Emmanuel. Heading into the weekend, Cappuccio was seventh in Division III in digs per set. |

SETTER OF THE WEEK Roman Fabrizio, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, S - Salem, N.H.) - While EC went an unblemished 4-0 in GNAC play last week, Fabrizio guided the offense by averaging 9.70 assists and 2.10 digs per set for the Saints. He had 11 assists in just one set againdt Dean, before posting 35 and 42 assists, respectively, in wins over Elms and Regis. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Trey Guest, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Fr, RS - Newington, Conn.) - Guest averaged 2.92 kills and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .357 for the Saints in a perfect 4-0 week. |
GNAC HONOR ROLL
Collin Liedke, Elms (Senior, L/DS - Newington, Conn.) - Liedke averaged 4.67 digs per set in a four-game week, including 24 digs (8.00 per set) in a setback against Regis last Tuesday.
Luke Roehm, Emerson (Junior, OH - Westport, Conn.) - Roehm put up a strong offensive showing for Emerson in their 2-1 week, which included two conference victories over Dean and Colby-Sawyer. The junior averaged 2.89 kills per set on 26 total kills alongside .44 service aces for four service aces. Against Wentworth on Saturday, Roehm registered his sixth match of the season with 10+ kills.
Jesus Garcia, Lasell (Senior, S) - Garcia had 61 set assists on the week, including 45 in a match against Rivier, for an average of 6.10 per set in a 2-1 week. The team had 46 kills that match against the Raiders, and Garcia had a set assist on all but one of them.
Tyrell Bucasas, Regis (Mass.) (So., S - Waialua, Hawaii) - Bucasas wrote his name into the Regis record book over the past week. Tuesday against Elms, he earned the most assists in a three-set match in program history with 44, tying his career high. Bucasas also collected 13 digs for a double-double along with two aces and two total blocks. He notched another double-double Thursday against Eastern Nazarene with 29 assists and 12 digs. Saturday, he came close to matching his assist total from the first match against Elms with 41 assists along with three aces against the Blazers. Bucasas concluded the week with 27 assists against Emmanuel Saturday afternoon for an average of 10.07 per set in the four-match week.
Joseph Perez, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., OH - Miami, Fla.) - Perez led the Regis offense throughout a 2-2 week, averaging 4.86 kills and 1.93 digs per set while hitting .274. Tuesday, he collected 20 kills, the most in a three-set match in program history, plus he hit .313 as the Pride swept Elms. Perez notched a double-double Thursday against Eastern Nazarene with 16 kills and 10 digs, plus he contributed two block assists. In the rematch at Elms Saturday, he led Regis to another sweep with 14 kills, two aces, and six digs. Perez concluded the week with 18 kills, a .300 hitting percentage, six digs, and three total blocks against Emmanuel.
Josh Milke, Wentworth (So., S - Eastampton, N.J.) - Milke averaged 8.80 assists per set with 44 assists in two sweeps against Eastern Nazarene and Elms, to go along with four total blocks and 1.20 digs per set for the nationally-ranked Leopards.
