Elms' Carlos Mercado averaged an impressive 4.88 kills per set while hitting an efficient .392 as the Blazers opened the season with a 2-0 record.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Carlos Mercado, Elms (Senior, S) - Averaged 4.88 kills per set on a .392 hitting percentage in a 2-0 week with road wins over John Jay and Eastern Nazarene. He also posted per-set marks of 2.38 digs and 0.88 blocks for the Blazers.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK David Marsh, Wentworth (Gr., MH - Springfield, Mass.) - Marsh posted 0.91 blocks per set as the Leopards got off to a scorching 4-0 start, winning on the road against Nazareth, SUNY Poly, Mount St. Joseph, and Baruch. He had six total blocks in the four-set victory over Nazareth.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Jyles Amirault, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Fr, OH - Andover, Mass.) - Amirault burst onto the collegiate scene with 41 kills over three matches, averaging a team-high 3.42 kills per set for the Saints over 12 sets. In his debut, the outside hitter posted 17 kills to go along with six digs and three aces in a 3-2 GNAC win over Colby-Sawyer. He followed it up with an impressive double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs before recording a match-high nine kills over No. 13 MIT. Amirault finished the week with four aces, four blocks while averaging 1.75 digs per set.

HONOR ROLL
Brenden Joyce, Lasell (Jr., OH/OPP) - Joyce averaged 3.23 kills per set while hitting .215 across the Laser's first six contests, highlighted by a 16-kill performance in a 3-0 setback at Stevens back on Jan. 15.
Hunter Oshman, Wentworth (Jr., RS - Pennington, N.J.) - Oshman averaged 3.15 kills per set on a .350 hitting percentage to go with a 0.85 aces per set as the Leopards got off to a stellar 4-0 start to the 2022 campaign.
