MTRACK: Keresey Takes Home Track Athlete Of The Year; Major Award Winners Announced
WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2026 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field major award winners on Tuesday afternoon.
The winners were recognized for their performance throughout the entire indoor season, including the 2026 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The honorees were selected by a vote conducted by the league’s five outdoor track & field head coaches at the meet.
Isaac Keresey of Saint Joseph’s College was voted Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year while Regis’ Justin Thuotte was selected as Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and Brock McClain was selected Rookie of the Year. Saint Joseph's (Maine) won coaching staff of the year as well while Regis was also the recipient of this year's institutional sportsmanship award.
In addition to this year’s award winners, the medalists in each event at the 2026 GNAC Championships were recognized as All-Conference performers (see below) and one student-athlete from each team was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Isaac Keresey, Saint Joseph’s (Maine)
Sophomore Isaac Keresey was outstanding this past outdoor season for the Monks, particularly in the conference championships. The Pittsfield, Maine native set two Provisional marks in the 800 meters (1:57.98) and the 400 hurdles (56.25), winning both events. Keresey also won the 1500 event at 4:26.71 and anchored the Monks' 4x400 and 4x800 winning relay teams and added a third-place mark in the Pole Vault at 3.20 meters.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Justin Thuotte, Regis
Senior Justin Thuotte had a dominant showing at the GNAC championships in all five field events he participated in. The Lebanon, Conn. native won the Shot Put at 12.13m. He also finished runner-up in the High Jump (1.80m), Long Jump at 6.86m, and the Hammer Throw (36.18m) while also placing third in the Triple Jump (13.29m). His marks in the Long Jump and Triple Jump were DIII New England qualifying marks as well.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Brock Mcclain, Regis
Freshman Brock Mcclain had a solid rookie campaign for the Pride as the Tunkhannock, PA native won the Discus Throw at 38.72 meters, finished third in the Shot Put at 12.06m and seventh in the Hammer Throw at 33.36 meters at the Outdoor Championships.
