Track Athlete Of The Week
Haytham Ramadan, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Jr.)
Junior Haytham Ramadan delivered the top men’s track performance of the week at Bates, winning the 600m in 1:21.53 (converted to 1:20.33) to comfortably hit the DIII New England automatic (1:22.00) and provisional standards. That race currently ranks him third in DIII New England in the 600m.
Field Athlete Of The Week
Justin Thuotte, Regis (Sr.)
At the Suffolk Ice Breaker, Justin Thuotte reset his own indoor long jump record from last weekend's Wesleyan Invitational with a leap of 6.84 meters, which was also good enough for first place on the afternoon and qualified the senior for New England Regionals. He also placed 14th overall in the weight throw (13.56 meters) and seventh in the triple jump (12.90 meters).
Rookie Of The Week
Stephen Pierre, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
At the Bates Invitational, freshman Stephen Pierre won the high jump with 1.82m (5' 11.5") and placed 4th in the 60m hurdles (9.02) after running 8.96 in the prelims. After the weekend Pierre currently still ranks first in the GNAC in the 60m hurdles (8.60), second in the GNAC in the long jump (6.81m), and fifth in the GNAC in the high jump (1.83m), while also putting him 16th in DIII New England in the hurdles, 8th in the long jump, and 27th in the high jump.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Joseph Pasco, Colby-Sawyer - Pasco had a great performance in the first meet back from break. Joseph finished second in the men's pole vault scoring 8 of the Chargers 13 total points on the day hitting a 4.00m mark.
Sharif Robinson Jr., Emmanuel - Robinson Jr. placed sixth in the Long Jump at Suffolk Ice Breaker (6.34 meters) and 10th in the Triple Jump at Suffolk Ice Breaker (12.13 meters).
Caleb Ruch, Lasell - Ruch finished 25th in Mile (5th D3 finisher) in program record time, and 19th in 800m (2nd D3 finisher) in competitive field including several D1 and D2 programs at Suffolk Ice Breaker meet. Performances rank him second in the GNAC this year for the Mile, and rank him fourth in the 800m.
Tudum Monday, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - At Bates, Monday was a double podium finisher, placing second in the 60m hurdles (8.68) and second in the triple jump with 12.92m (42' 4.75"), with the triple jump hitting the DIII NE provisional standard (12.90m). Monday currently sits second in the GNAC in triple jump, third in the GNAC in the 60m hurdles (8.68), and is listed 27th in DIII New England in the triple jump as of January 18th.
