MSWIMDIVE: Norwich Atop Men's Leaderboard After Day One Of GNAC Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Norwich men's team finished day one of the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimming & Diving Championships at the top spot of the team leaderboards as the Cadets put up 160 points.
Norwich took home all event victories in both relay and individual events, which was highlighted by Drew Bylow's record-breaking performance in the 200 backstroke as the sophomore swam a new conference record time of 1:56.83. Bylow also won the 200 freestyle as well for the Cadets. Meanhwhile, Adrian Riendeau collected a victory in the 400 IM, Andrew Clark won the 50 butterfly, Kristian Adlianitski in the 100 breaststroke and Alex Sulyma took the 1000 freestyle for Norwich. Norwich's 200 and 400 relay teams won, sweeping all the events for the first night.
University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) finished second on the day with 65 points, looking to build some momentum tomorrow. Regis followed behind in third with 46 points as they look to shake up the leaderboards. Elms came in fourth with eight points while Albertus Magnus had collected four.
Day two of the GNAC Championships features the next nine scoring events counting towards the GNAC title. Additionally, prior to the start of the evening finals session, the conference will recognize its senior competitors with the Senior Recognition Ceremony, starting at 5:55 PM.
