NEW LONDON, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team saw its 2025 season come to a close, falling to intrastate foe and nationally ranked No. 7 Connecticut College (CC), 6-0, during the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament First Round Saturday afternoon at Freeman Field in New London, Conn. With the result, the Blue Jays concluded the year at 13-5-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game remained scoreless until the closing seconds of the first half, when Kevin Hwong finished a pass from Charlie Riegel with 2.7 seconds left, sending the Camels into halftime with a 1–0 advantage.
- The Camels controlled the second half, netting five of their six goals after the break, including a pair from Max Haberman.
- USJ would find some scoring opportunities, but would not be able to find an answer to a stout Camel defense, as they took home a 6-0 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- CC would dominate the stat sheet, outshooting the Blue Jays 39-7, including a 15-3 edge in shots on target. The home team also held the advantage in corner kicks 11-2.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Will Slayton (Manchester, Conn.) made nine saves in the effort.
