PLAYER OF THE WEEK Santiago Sanchez, New England College (So., M) Sophomore midfielder Santiago Sanchez had an impressive week of play, tallying seven points across three games. On Tuesday (Sep. 10), Sanchez scored the lone goal in a 1-1 tie against Fitchburg State. Then on Saturday (Sep. 14), he contributed to both of the Pilgrims' goals, registering one goal and one assist in a 2-0 conference win against Mitchell. To wrap up the week, on Sunday (Sep. 15), Sanchez scored yet another goal in a 2-0 win vs. Lesley. After week three, Sanchez is currently tied for second in the GNAC in points (7) and leads New England College in goals (3). |

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Declan Caster, Johnson & Wales (Sr., GK) Senior goalkeeper Declan Caster did not concede a single goal for the Wildcats this past week in 180:00 minutes of play. On Wednesday (Sep. 11), in a rematch from last years GNAC Championship against Norwich, Caster was able to shutout the Cadets while recording four saves and secured the 1-0 win. Then on Saturday (Sep. 14), he recorded yet another four save shutout in a 1-0 win against Colby-Sawyer. Caster currently ranks fourth in the GNAC for goals against average (0.75) and is tied for first in shutouts (2). |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Chris Alcon, Regis (Fy., GK) First-year Goalkeeper Chris Alcon earns back to back Rookie of the Week nods after earning his first career collegiate victory in a 2-1 win against Colby-Sawyer. Alcon played the full 90:00 minutes in the match and recorded six saves while only allowing one goal. Five of his six saves came in the second half and he was able to hold off the Chargers and secure the win. He currently sits in fourth place in the GNAC in save percentage (.889). |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Kyle Brocker, Anna Maria - The first year forward put up one goal in a 3-1 conference win against Elms.
Mpumelelo Maphumulo, Lasell - Came off the bench and notched a hat trick in a 3-2 win against Mitchell.
Lukas Tate, New England College - In his first two starts of the season, he registered 12 total saves while only conceeding one goal. Had eight saves in a 1-1 tie vs. Fitchburg State and recorded another four saves in a 2-0 win vs. Mitchell.
Rion Dos Santos, Saint Joseph's (Maine.) - Scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss vs. Emmanuel before going on to record one goal and one assist in a 4-0 win against Dean.
Damir Cirikovic, University of Saint Joseph - Netted his first career collegiate goal in the final two minutes of play in a 1-0 win over Lasell helping the Blue Jays to their foirst win of the season.
