Player Of The Week
Wani Donato, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr.)
Senior Wani Donato filled the stat sheet to propel the Monks to a pair of conference wins last week, averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 69.2% (18-for-26) from the floor and 80.0% (4-for-5) at the line in victories over Lasell and Dean. The senior forward posted 20 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocks in a tight win over the Lasers on Tuesday, then followed with 21 points, seven boards, three dimes, three steals, and a block in Saturday’s road triumph at Dean. Donato is fourth in the conference in both field goal percentage (55.9%) and blocks (28).
Rookie Of The Week
Danny Adams, Emmanuel (Fr.)
Freshman Danny Adams averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 50.0% (10-of-20) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Saints. Adams put up 19 points (6-of-10) and six rebounds with two blocks to defeat Regis before following with 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists over Elms in the victory.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus - Averaged 26 points on the week, including 34 points against Rivier in win on Saturday, including 27 in second half. Also averaged four assists and 4.5 rebs.
Nasir Motley, Dean - Motley averaged 22 points (57.7% from the floor) a game with 5.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs. Motley had 19 points and six rebounds in a tight-win over Mitchell before collecting 25 points and five rebounds in a setback to Saint Joseph's (Maine).
Mahari Guerrier, Emmanuel - Guerrier averaged 17 points (50.0% from the floor) and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Saints. He had 17 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and three blocks against Regis before collecting a 14 point and 10 rebound double-double over Elms.
Abdul Mansaray, Mitchell - Mansaray put together a dominant and efficient week for the Mitchell College men's basketball team, averaging 26.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game across two GNAC contests while shooting 56.8 percent from the field (21-of-37). Mansaray scored 53 total points in 74 minutes, while pulling down 22 total rebounds. In an 88–86 loss to Dean, he played all 40 minutes, finishing with 28 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and three steals. He followed with 25 points and nine rebounds in a 71–68 conference win over Norwich, delivering timely baskets to help secure the victory. Beyond scoring, Mansaray averaged 11.0 rebounds, including 2.5 offensive boards, and added defensive impact with 1.5 steals per game.
Michel Ndayishimiye, Norwich - Ndayishimiye delivered a dominant two-game stretch to lead Norwich in GNAC play, averaging 23.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from three-point range. The senior guard erupted for a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds in a narrow road loss at Mitchell, shooting 48.0 percent from the field and adding a trio of three-pointers. He opened the week with a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double and five assists in a blowout win over Colby-Sawyer.
Jamir Harvey, Regis - Harvey averaged 19.5 points on 17-of-30 shooting while pulling down seven rebounds per game. He began the week with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding seven boards, then followed with a 21-point effort in a Senior Day win over New England College, where he again grabbed seven rebounds.
Lence Altenor, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Altenor averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 steals, and 2.5 assists per game during another 2-0 GNAC week for the Blue Jays, who extended their win streak to 11 games, improved to 16-6 overall, and remained perfect at 9-0 in league play with a pair of home victories. He opened the week by erupting for 31 points to go along with four steals and four assists in a pivotal 90-78 win over intrastate GNAC rival Albertus Magnus on Tuesday (Feb. 3), before adding 12 points, five steals, and one assist in just 16 minutes of floor time in a 95-53 triumph against Colby-Sawyer on Senior Day Saturday (Feb. 7). Overall, Altenor shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the field, including 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from three-point range, and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the free-throw line over the two-game stretch.
