Player Of The Week
Esmer Madesko, Lasell (So.)
Sophomore guard Esmer Madesko pushed the Lasers to a 2-0 week in conference play, averaging 28 points a game on an insanely efficient 80.8% from the floor, while grabbing 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per contest. Madesko started the week strong, scoring 22 points on an efficient 9-for-11 shooting night, adding six rebounds and three steals in a 90-67 win over Regis before finishing the week with 34 points (12-for-15), 10 rebounds, and four steals in a 89-82 win over Dean. The sophomore currently leads the league in total points with 340 and second in points per game at 20 while being third in steals (43).
Rookie Of The Week
Davis Mann, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
Freshman Davis Mann helped the Monks to a 2-0 week after averaging 16 points with five rebounds a game. Mann put up 15 points with five boards in a 81-54 conference victory over Emmanuel before he followed up with 17 points and five rebounds in a huge non-conference victory over RV Bates to close out the week.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus - Daniels averaged 25 points and 2.5 steals across two conference wins, which were highlighted by a 34 point performance (30 in first half) and three steals over Elms before putting up 16 points and five rebounds against Norwich.
Christian Yeates, Dean - Yeates collected a 26 point, 10 rebound double-double in a close setback to Lasell, adding three steals defensively as well.
Troy Butler, Mitchell - Butler delivered a standout week, averaging 22.0 points on 47.2% shooting while knocking down 46.7% from three (7-of-15) over two GNAC games. Butler began the week by pouring in 23 points against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), adding three assists and three steals before following that up with 21 points in just 25 minutes off the bench in an 86–72 road win at New England College, hitting four threes.
Mike Strazzeri, New England College - Strazzeri shot 9-15 from the field in Tuesday's 78-72 win over Colby-Sawyer where he recorded 24 points, five rebounds, and four assists while going a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line. He led the Pilgrims in scoring with 12 points while grabbing five rebounds and recording three assists in their loss to Mitchell on Saturday. On the week, the junior averaged 18.0 points on 50 percent shooting and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Joe Joe DuBrul, Norwich - DuBrul put together a strong two-way showing in a 1-1 GNAC week for the Cadets, averaging 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds across two starts. The senior forward poured in a team-high 18 points and hit four three-pointers in Saturday’s game at Albertus Magnus, while adding 13 points and 13 rebounds in a 62-61 road win at Rivier. DuBrul shot 40.0 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc across the two-game stretch.
Aamyr Sullivan, Regis - In his first game back after missing three contests, Sullivan powered the Pride to their first GNAC victory of the season, pouring in 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding three assists and three rebounds in 24 minutes of action in a 77–71 win over Rivier.
Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Wani opened the week with a dominant 28-point, 15-rebound, three-assist effort in Tuesday’s 81-54 win over Emmanuel, then followed with 15 points, four assists, and two rebounds in Saturday’s 69-67 defensive battle against Bates. For the week, he averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 58.1% (18-of-31) from the floor.
Deivone Tanksley Jr., University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Tanksley averaged 18.5 points on 69.6% shooting while collecting nine rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Blue Jays. He put up 16 on 7-for-8 from the floor with seven rebounds over Mitchell before collecting a 21 point, 11 rebound double-double with four steals against Emmanuel.
