Player Of The Week
Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus (Sr.)
Senior guard Ta'zhon Daniels led the Falcons in scoring this past week, averaging 23.3 points a game, which included a 38 point outburst in a victory over UMass Dartmouth on 15-for-27 shooting with two steals and a 24 point outing against undefeated #10 nationally-ranked Montclair State on 9-for-19 from the floor with four steals. Daniels also collected eight points and four assists against reigning national champion and #1 nationally ranked Trinity (CT.).
Rookie Of The Week
Davis Mann, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
Freshman guard Davis Mann continued his steady play over break, as the freshman guard averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 48.1% (13-27) from the floor and 77.8% (7-9) from the FT line in a pair of Stevens Men's Basketball Holiday Tournament contests last Friday and Saturday. He scored 15 points with eight boards in a 96-89 loss to Stevens on Friday and helped the Monks defeat Ithaca College with 18 points in an 87-70 victory on Saturday.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Tobey Bellows, Colby-Sawyer - Bellows had a standout game to help the Chargers start off 2026 with a win. Tobey would shoot 57.1% from deep, and 47% from the field while dropping 20 points. Bellows would add seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals to proper the Chargers to victory.
Esmer Madesko, Lasell - Scored 26 points on 10-for-14 from the floor with seven assists in a 102-96 setback to Middlebury.
Tyrone Chinn, Regis - Junior guard Tyrone Chinn delivered a breakout week off the bench, playing a key role in Regis College’s 2-1 stretch while averaging 12.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in just 19.0 minutes per game. Chinn shot an efficient 60.9 percent from the field (14-of-23) and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line, providing consistent production in all three contests. He opened the week with 10 points in 11 minutes at Franklin, then followed with eight points and nine rebounds in a win over Saint Mary’s (Md.). His best performance came on January 3 at Fitchburg State, where Chinn recorded the first double-double of his career, pouring in a career-high 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting while adding 10 rebounds. He was perfect from the line (6-for-6) and played a pivotal role in the Pride’s late rally to secure a 71–68 road victory.
Matt Youngquist, Rivier - Set a career high 25 points on 9-12 shooting in 78-54 victory over Anna Maria. Went 7-for-10 from three, also a career-high in three pointers made.
John Paul Frazier, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Frazier averaged 22.5 points and shot 55.2% (16-29) from the floor, including a 10-for-20 clip from three-point distance, in a pair of Stevens Men's Basketball Holiday Tournament contests last Friday and Saturday. The senior guard netted 27 points with the help of a 7-for-12 downtown shooting effort in a narrow loss to Stevens on Friday and added 18 points and five rebounds in an 87-70 victory over Ithaca College on Saturday.
Lence Altenor, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Altenor averaged 18.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in a 1–1 week for the Blue Jays against a pair of nationally recognized opponents. He opened the week with 20 points and three rebounds in a narrow 92–87 road setback at No. 10 nationally ranked Montclair State University on Wednesday (Dec. 31) before starting the new year with a bang, scoring 16 points, including the game-winning jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining, and adding three rebounds in a 73–71 home victory over receiving-votes New York University on Saturday (Jan. 3). Overall, Altenor shot 46.4 percent (13-of-28 FG), 26.7 percent (4-of-15 3FG), and 85.7 percent (6-of-7 FT) over the two-game stretch.
