Norwich's Liss, SJC's Wani Earn NABC All-District And D3hoops.com All Region Honors
WINTHROP, Mass. - Two Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Players were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District District I Team and the D3hoops.com Region I All-Region Team.
Norwich's Owen Liss was named to both the NABC Division III All-District District I Second Team and the D3Hoops.com All-Region I Third Team after the West Suffield, Conn. native led the GNAC in scoring with 21.5 points per game while ranking among the league leaders in multiple categories, including fourth in field goal percentage (56.7%), eighth in free throw percentage (83.0%), and fourth in rebounds per game (8.8). He also paced the conference in blocked shots with 44 for the Cadets. Liss capped off his career, placing on the GNAC's First-Team All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season.
Saint Joseph's (Maine) Remijo Wani was named to the First Team for both the DIII NABC All-District District I Team as well as the D3hoops.coom All-Region I team after the Portland, Maine native led the Monks to an NCAA Tournament Appearance this past season. Wani averaged 18.3 points a game on 50.6% from the floor, 35.8% from three, and 88.6% from the charity stripe to go with 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals a night in 28.7 minutes of action, leading SJC to a 24-5 overall record and 13-1 conference record. The sophomore earned GNAC Player of the Year honors for his efforts while being placed on the GNAC's First-Team All-Conference this past season.
