GNAC Field Hockey Report: Week 5
JWU grad student Jillian Miele had three key goals last week as the Widcats defeated GNAC rival Saint Joseph's of Maine and got a big win at Roger Williams.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Jillian Miele, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Gr., F - Wilmington, Mass.) - Miele scored three goals, including the game-winner on the road at Saint Joseph's of Maine on Saturday, as the Wildcats remained perfect on the season at 9-0 (4-0 GNAC). She also had one goal in a 2-1 road over (6-3) Roger Williams last Tuesday.

GOALKEEPER / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Abby Boudreau, Lasell (Freshman, GK) - Boudreau stopped 10 of 11 shots in a 2-1 week for a .909 save percentage, allowing just one goal in 30 minutes of action at Framingham State.

HONOR ROLL
Sydney Gonyea, Simmons (Sophomore, F - Lebanon, N.H.) - Gonyea guided Simmons to a 2-0 week, which included scoring the eventual game-winning goal in a road victory over Albertus Magnus College to close out the week. Agains the Falcons, she tied her career single-game high registering seven points, tallying three goals, for the second time this season, and an assist. Earlier in the week, Gonyea recorded two goals for four points in an 8-0 shutout over Elms College. Currently the GNAC leader in goals (15) and points (37), she finished the week with five goals and one assist for 11 points.
