WINTHROP, Mass. – Four student-athletes from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) have been named to the 2014 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Region Teams, as announced by the NFHCA organization on Monday.
Three GNAC players were named to the First Team in Anna Maria College junior forward Kylie Dalbec, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine senior midfielder Theresa Hendrix and Simmons College senior defender Avery Hines. Saint Joseph’s (ME) senior forward Effie Drew received Second Team accolades.
Dalbec was named the 2014 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league in goals (21) and points (49), while guiding the AMCATS to an appearance in the conference title game and ECAC Tournament.

Hendrix also led the conference with 11 assists and contributed six goals.
Hines was a 2014 All-Conference First Team selection for the Sharks, who won the inaugural GNAC Championship in the sport of field hockey. The senior played all 19 games on the backline for Simmons, which allowed just four goals in six regular-season contests this season.
Drew tied for second on the Monks in points (25), while tying for the team-lead with 11 goals scored as Saint Joseph’s claimed the GNAC regular-season title.

Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
