PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kenneth Miller, Mitchell (Jr., C/1B) Junior Kenneth Miller Jr. had another big week for Mitchell, slashing .500/.500/.938 with two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs scored, leading the Mariners to a 4-0 record. The New London, Conn. native had two multi-hit games, highlighted by a 4-for-5 performance with two homers, seven RBI, and two runs scored in a GNAC victory over Norwich on Sunday. Facing the Cadets, the junior belted a grand slam in the top of the fifth to break open what was a one-run game at the time. His second homer, a three run shot to right field, came two innings later and extended Mitchell's lead to 8-0. |

PITCHER OF THE WEEK Aidan Vining, Johnson & Wales (Jr., P) Junior Aidan Vining pitched to a complete game victory for JWU as the Woburn, Mass. native fanned nine in a GNAC victory against Dean on Friday. The junior allowed one run in the process and improves to 5-0 on the season. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Ryan Dennis, Mitchell (Fr., OF/1B) First-year Ryan Dennis continued his strong freshman campaign this past week, slashing .588/.611/.882, helping lead the Mariners to a 4-0 record. Dennis added one home run, drove in eight, and scored six runs, adding a triple and three stolen bases. The Enfield, Conn. native had three or more hits in three conference games to during the week, going 6-for-8 with a homer, a triple, seven RBI, and four runs scored across a doubleheader sweep of USJ on Friday, before picking up four more hits in a GNAC win over Norwich on Sunday. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Eddy Garabito, Albertus Magnus - Had .429/.429/.429 slash lines, incluing two hits in each of the three games during the week. Collected two RBI in wins over Norwich and Wesleyan (Conn.). Garabito also stole two bases against Wesleyan (Conn.)
Eric Galarza, Albertus Magnus - Had .385/.429/.615 slash lines and hit three-run homer against Norwich in GNAC win.
Matthew Fletcher, Lasell - Went seven scoreless innings on the mound and fanned eight while giving up a walk and four hits in a road conference victory over Elms.
Eddie Kaftan, Mitchell - Dominated in his lone start on the week, throwing seven innings of one-run ball, helping lead the Mitchell baseball team to an 11-1 conference win over USJ on Friday afternoon. Kaftan scattered just five hits, walked none, and struck out six, picking up his fifth win of the spring (tied for best in conference) while dropping his ERA to 2.00, good for third best in the GNAC.
Michael Gajda, Mitchell - Slashed .438/.471/.625 picking up seven hits in 16 at bats, helping lead the Mitchell baseball team to a 4-0 record on the week. Gajda had three doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored, picking up at least one base hit in all four games, while registering multiple hits in three games.
Ty Baker, Rivier - Posted back-to-back saves in a doubleheader sweep over NEC to help Rivier secure a 3-0 (2-0 GNAC) week.
Owen Medlock, Rivier - Posted a .417 batting average with five hits, including one double, to push in three runs and score twice. He also walked twice while swiping three bags. Defensively, he posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in right field.
William Dionne, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Earned the win over Elms, striking out five in just two innings of relief work.
Ryan Kastle, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in win over Elms.
Ozzie Weber, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Earned the win in both of USJ's victories in a 2-3 week. Pitched 2.1 innings in relief and struck out a pair in an 11-10 extra-inning USJ win on Thursday at Nichols. Got the start and tossed 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts in a 12-1 win on Sunday versus Wesleyan. For the week, pitched 9.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) for a 2.79 ERA and struck out 10.
