Player of the Week
John Sullivan (Southbury, Conn.), Junior, Catcher, Anna Maria College
Sullivan had a monster week for the AMCATS. He batted .600 (12-for-20) with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 5 runs scored and 10 RBI's. He had 5 multi-hit games, a slugging percentage of 1.100 and a .600 on base percentage. He helped backbone a starting rotation that produce a 3.19 ERA over seven games and led the AMCATS to a 6-1 week including an outstanding 5-1 GNAC record. In a sweep vs. Rivier University, Sullivan was 5-for-6 with 3 RBI and two doubles. In the 5-1 win over #21 Saint Joseph's College (ME) the junior went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. In a 12-11 slugfest vs. Albertus Magnus, the catcher delivered 4 RBI's with a triple and two doubles.
Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Laverriere (Biddeford, Maine), Senior, RHP, Saint Joseph's College (Maine)
Laverriere tossed a complete-game three hitter with four strikeouts and zero walks in a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon. The senior right-hander also lowered his season ERA to a minuscule 0.32 mark with the impressive effort.
Rookie of the Week
Bill Whaley (Northfield, Vt.), Freshman, Pitcher/First Baseman, Norwich University
Whaley led the Cadets to their first conference win of 2013, throwing a complete game one-hitter against Emerson. He allowed 0 earned runs in the contest while picking up eight strikeouts. He also registered a .409 OBP for the week and slugged a whopping .529. He racked up three extra-base hits, including two doubles and a homerun. He drove in four runs, scored five times and added three stolen bases. He also had a 1.000 fielding percentage in the week as the Cadets played six games.
