MTRACK: FOUR-PEAT! Monks Earn Their Fourth Consecutive GNAC Title After Dominant Finish
BOSTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's (Maine) came out on top for the fourth year in a row in dominant fashion at the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center today.
The Monks earned points to claim their fourth consecutive GNAC title, winning nine of 16 events in the process. Their versatility of talent was on full display today. On the track, Stephen Pierre won the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.55. Abdirizak Abukar took home two gold medals individually for the Monks in the 200m (22.34) and the 400m (50.19). Jacob Schmader won the 400m in 50.09 while Haytham Ramadan secured gold in the 800m (1:59.70) and the mile event (4:30.67). Jacob Pelletier added two more event victories in the 3k (9:17.86) and the 5k (16:07.97). The Monks also secured two first-place finishes in the 4x400 relay and the 4000m distance medley. The 4x400 team finished with a 3:32.33 time with the team consisting of Abukar, Aidan Mills, Dalton Feeney, and Noah Batoosingh. Ramadan, Emilson Zocolo, Alexey Seredin, and Isaac Keresey made up the Distance Medley winning squad.
Emmanuel finished as this year’s runner-up with 79.5 points as Pierre Labossierre won the Triple Jump for the Saints at 13.54 meters.
Regis finished in third place with 73 points after a strong showing in the field events, led by Justin Thuotte, who collected three first-place finishes in the High Jump (1.90m), Long Jump (6.90m), and Weight Throw (13.05m) while Ryan Sweeney won the Shot Put for the Pride at 13.14m.
Coming in fourth was Lasell, who had 64 points as Colby-Sawyer (59.5) rounded out the final spot in this year's Indoor Track and Field Championship with two event victories coming from Brady Curley in the 60 meters (7.17) and Joseph Pasco in the Pole Vault (4.00m).
All the individual champions, along with the other two medalists in each event (teams in relays) were named to the GNAC All-Conference Team (listed below) as the major award winners will be voted on by the league's head coaches and announced at a later time to be determined.
