GEN: SJC (M), Emmanuel (W) Earn 2025-26 Commissioner's Cups
WINTHROP, Mass. - Saint Joseph's College of Maine (Men's) and Emmanuel College (women) were named the winners of the 2025-26 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Commissioner's Cups on Monday Afternoon (June 1).
The Monks collect their fifth Commissioner's Cup and their second consecutive Commissioner's Cup as they earned 33 of a possible 40 points (82.5%) in the men's competition, highlighted by championship victories in Men's Basketball, Cross Country, and Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field as well as a pair of strong runner-up finishes in Lacrosse and Baseball.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel College earned its third GNAC Commissioner's Cup and first since 2018-2019, earning 35 of a possible 40 points (87.5%). The Saints claimed championships in Cross Country, Women's Soccer, both Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field and Women's Basketball. They also finished as the runner-up in this year's Lacrosse Championship in the Spring.
The GNAC Commissioner's Cup annually recognizes the member institution achieving the highest level of athletic success throughout the academic year. It is based upon a point system and standings are determined by percentages in order to reflect the number of GNAC sports that each member sponsors.
Schools receive five points for winning a GNAC Championship, four points for advancing to a conference title game, three points for competing in a GNAC Semifinal, two points for qualifying for a GNAC Tournament, or one point for sponsoring the sport.
