Nemzer, who has competed in 32 Boston Marathons and nine Ironman Triathlons, will organize the inaugural GNAC event, set for Sunday, February 16 of next year at the Boston University's Track & Tennis Center

The Brooklyn native will work with the GNAC's track & field coaches beginning this summer and leading up to the one-day inaugural event, which will feature all six of the GNAC's sponsoring programs: Colby-Sawyer College, Emmanuel College, Lasell College, Regis College, Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Suffolk University.

Nemzer began working for the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) in 1997 to help coordinate key operations for the Boston Marathon. The 1980 Northeastern University graduate also worked worked closely with renowned Boston Marathon race director and running companion Dave McGillivray.

Prior to forming Nemzer Event Management LLC in 2015, Nemzer worked with McGillivray and BAA to help strategically plan the 2014 Boston Marathon in the wake of the 2013 tragedy. He served as the event's operations manager one year after the devastating bombings by the finish line.

For the GNAC, the marking of next February's event will increase the conference's number of sport offerings to 22 in the 2019-20 academic year.

Founded in 1995, the GNAC began sponsoring outdoor track & field in 2017-18, with Regis serving as the conference's distinguished championship host each of the past two years.

Colby-Sawyer will host the 2020 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, April 25. The one-day meet will feature GNAC programs only on the Chargers' campus in New London, N.H.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Founded in 1995, the GNAC annually sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunity and community involvement in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience.
