Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Report – Week 2
Player of the Week
Samantha Jo Borr (Westfield, N.J.), Sophomore,
1st Singles/1st Doubles, Johnson & Wales
University
Put together a perfect 5-0 mark on the week going undefeated in
singles (1-0) and doubles (4-0) play. Borr posted a 6-1, 6-0
win for the Wildcats at the No. 1 singles spot and also had an 8-0
win at No. 1 doubles in the team’s 9-0 shutout against UMass
Boston. The sophomore then teamed with Kathryn Farrar to post a 3-0
record at the Flight A doubles spot to lead JWU to the championship
of the Newport Grass Court Doubles Championship.
Rookie of the Week
Kathryn Farrar (Dublin, Ohio), Freshman,
2nd Singles/1st Doubles, Johnson & Wales
University
Enjoyed a perfect 5-0 mark on the week going undefeated in
