The week of January 17-24, 2009 has been designated by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as Passionate Purple Week. All women’s basketball games during the week will raise funds for the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA). Show your support by coming out to the games and wearing purple throughout the week.
The GNAC is very excited about the partnership with the LFA and wants to thank all of the participating schools and their students, faculty, staff, and alumni for joining the fight against lupus and raising funds for those who are affected by lupus. The money raised will go to fund much needed lupus research, education, and support services. We have set a $2,500 fund-raising goal and with your help we know we can reach our goal. Check back regularly to see our progress!
The LFA is the foremost national nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus and providing support, services, and hope to all people affected by lupus. You can learn more about the LFA by visiting the website at www.lupus.org.
If you can’t participate or attend a game you can still show your support by making an online donation for Passionate Purple Week, here. Don’t forget to indicate which school you are from when you make your donation.
