Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Report - Week 2

Player of the Week
Nick Hamasian (Hamden, Conn.), Senior, Defender, Albertus Magnus College
Hamasian, a Falcons' starting defender, scored two goals in the Falcons' 4-2 win over Emerson on Saturday. His two-goal performance was his first multiple-goal game of his career. He also tallied an assist in the Falcons' 2-0 win over Saint Joseph's of Maine as the Falcons are now 3-0 in GNAC play.

Rookie of the Week
Alex Zapata (Hamden, Conn.), Freshman, Forward, Albertus Magnus College
Zapata scored the game winning goal in the Falcons' 2-0 win over Saint Joseph's Maine as he received a pass from his older brother Stephen and drilled a shot into the back of the net. He also scored the Falcons' final goal in their 4-2 win over Emerson and assisted on the first goal of that same game.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Matthew St. Peter (Colchester, Vt.), Senior, Goalkeeper, Rivier University
St. Peter backstopped Rivier to their first point in nearly two seasons as the team drew a 1-1 tie at Anna Maria. He recorded 21 saves in the two games this weekend, including a 14 save performance against New England College in non-conference action.
