MEN'S LACROSSE DRAWS BOWDOIN IN NCAA FIRST ROUND
For the fourth time in the history of the Mount Ida College men’s lacrosse program the Mustangs will be heading to the NCAA tournament to face Bowdoin College this coming Wednesday (May 9, 2012) at Howard Ryan Field in Brunswick, Maine with game time slate for 7:00 p.m. Ninth year Head Coach Andrew Fink will head to post-season action after capturing their second straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship over Norwich University winning 7-4 back on April 29, 2012. Before joining the GNAC two seasons ago the Mustangs were six-time North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title winners combining for eight league championships through Fink’s nine seasons.

NEWTON, MASS. – A stout goalkeeping effort from sophomore Mark Paradiso (Westford, Mass.) and three fourth period goals helped push fourth-seeded Norwich University into the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference postseason tournament championship game April 27.

Dylan Gray Reaches 100 Point Milestone in 8-2 Lasell Victory Over Emmanuel
Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College men’s lacrosse team ran their conference record to a perfect 8-0 with an 8-2 defeat over Emmanuel College. The Lasers improved to 10-4 overall with the win, while the Saints fell to 6-8 on the year and 2-6 in the GNAC. Lasell junior Dylan Gray (Bayport, N.Y.) collected the 100th point of his Lasell career with his first quarter goal, becoming the fourteenth player in program history to reach the mark.

NORTHFIELD, VT. – Norwich University broke up a tightly-contested game April 16 with a big first half run en route to an 11-4 win over St. Joseph’s College of Maine.

Lasers Outlast Mustangs 7-6 in Men’s Lacrosse Action
Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College men’s lacrosse team defeats the Mustangs of Mount Ida College, 7-6, Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Lasers record to 7-4 overall and 5-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, putting them in first place in the conference, while the Mustangs drop to 7-4 on the year and 4-1 in GNAC play, suffering their first conference loss of the season. Pat Bresnahan (Manchester, NH) scored the game winning goal for Lasell with 5:25 remaining in the 4th period.

MOUNT IDA COLLEGE NINTH YEAR HEAD COACH ANDREW FINK COLLECTS 100TH CAREER VICTORY
(Newton, Massachusetts) - Mount Ida College men’s lacrosse ninth year Head Coach Andrew Fink collected his 100th career victory Saturday afternoon in a 20-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win over visiting Rivier College. The Mustangs scored the first 13 goals of the contest through 31 minutes of play until the Raiders got on the board with their only score of the contest early in the third quarter.

Lasell Uses 2nd Half Run to Defeat Wentworth 16-7
Newton, MA– The Lasell College men’s lacrosse team got back to their winning ways, picking up their second home victory of the season with a 16-7 defeat of Wentworth. The Lasers placed seven players in the scoring column led by Dylan Gray Bayport, NY) with four goals and three assists, and used an 8-1 run to break open a close game in the second half. Max Blum (New Fairfield, CT), Mark Pappas (Worcester, MA), and Jeff Guilherme (Derry, NH) each scored twice for the Leopards. The Lasers won 22 of 27 face-offs to help control the game.

Mount Ida again tops the preseason poll after having won the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship in 2011. The Mustangs earned 51 points to put them at the top of the preseason poll.
