Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Report - Week 4

Offensive Player of the Week
Jennifer Ferreira (Shirley, Mass.), Senior, Outside Hitter, Mount Ida College
Led the Mustangs to a 3-1 record while tallying 55 kills in 11 sets played with a .333 hitting percentage. The senior averaged 5.00 kills per set as she led the team to two GNAC victories over Albertus Magnus and Anna Maria. Ferreira is also a primary passer for the Mustangs and totaled just 3 receiving errors for the entire week. Her best offensive showing came against Albertus Magnus as she tallied 21 kills in a 3-0 victory. The Shirley, Mass. native also led the team with 35 total digs, averaging 3.18 digs per set.

Co-Defensive Players of the Week
Giselle Cram-Ortiz (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico), Junior, Libero, Johnson & Wales University
Named to the All-Tournament team after leading JWU to a second place finish at the Wildcat Fall Classic. Averaged 5.88 digs per set for the Wildcats, including 24 in the teams win over Western Connecticut and 29 in the championship game against MIT, the sixth ranked team in the region. Also was nearly flawless in serve receive, making only one error in 35 attempts.

Yun Ting-Lee (Keelung, Taiwan), Senior, Libero, Emmanuel College
The senior captain gathered 44 digs in two matches, averaging 5.50 digs per set. In doing so, Lee became Emmanuel's all-time digs leader, surpassing the prior career mark of 1,565 digs set just last season. Lee recorded a match-high 27 digs in the Saints' 5-set win over Eastern Nazarene on Thursday night, as well as a match-high 17 digs in Emmanuel's loss to RIC on Tuesday night. The 2011 Defensive Player of the Year currently leads the Saints and is ranked 2nd in the GNAC, averaging 4.58 digs per set.

Rookie of the Week
Alyssa Nahigian (Coventry, R.I.), Freshman, Setter, Lasell College
Nahigian put together an outstanding week of volleyball to help Lasell go 3-0 in three Great Northeast Athletic Conference matches. Nahigian directed a potent Laser offensive attack, dishing out 81 assists in just 11 sets to average 7.36 assists/set. She added 11 service aces and chipped in with 31 digs on the defensive end.
