Player of the Week: Joe Young (McLean, VA)


Young continued his recent hot streak scoring both game-winning goals for the Cadets in two huge victories over Lasell and Johnson & Wales. Young ignited a second half surge for Norwich by scoring in the opening minute of the second half against Lasell for the eventual game-winning goal. He also added an assist as well. On Saturday, he scored the lone goal of the match in a 1-0 win over JWU. He has now scored in three of NU's last four matches. Goals: 2 Assists:1 Points: 5

 

 

 

Rookie of the Week: Lindsley Barrett (Shelton, CT)


Barrett scored two goals on the week, including one in each of the Falcons' matches. Barrett scored the game-winning goal at Mount Ida in the Falcons' 2-0 win and scored his seventh goal of the season in Albertus' 2-0 win over Emerson. Lindsley has made a huge impact on the Falcons' offensive efforts this season as they are 10-2 on the year and remain unbeaten in the GNAC at 7-0. Goals: 2 Assists: 0 Points: 4

 

Goalkeeper of the Week: Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT)


Piroscafo improved his shutout tally to four on the year after back-to-back shutouts on the week. First, the Falcons downed Mount Ida 2-0 on the road then shutout Emerson 2-0 at home. The 2-0 win over Emerson was an important victory for the Falcons as Emerson and Albertus are currently the top-two teams in the GNAC standings for men's soccer. Goals Allowed: 0 Saves: 10 GAA: 0.00
