Wodatch Named ECAC Hitter of the Week
Paxton, Mass. - Anna Maria College’s baseball junior Kevin Wodatch (Wallingford, Conn) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Hitter of the Week as announced Tuesday evening.
The ECAC honor is the first garnered by any AMCAT athlete this season. Wodatch was also named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week.
Wodatch led AMC to a 7-1 showing last week including a seven game win streak. He batted .613, with a .667 on-base percentage, and a 1.000 slugging percentage. To start, Kevin collected 19 hits in 31 at-bats, including 5 doubles, 2 triples and a home run. He scored 13 runs on the week and had 11 RBI s. The lefty only struck out twice and was walked 5 times. He had 7 out of 8 multiple-hit games. In the six conference games last week Wodatch was 13-for-22, batting .590, with 5 RBI and 9 runs scored. In a non-conference match-up with Lesley, Wodatch picked up the win on the mound pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and striking out 4.
Wodatch and the AMCATS will host Eastern Nazarene on Thursday for an 2:00 PM doubleheader at Assumption College.
