Lasell's Sean Bertanza Surpasses 1,000 Career Mark
Newton, MA - Junior guard Sean Bertanza became the 11th player in the history of the men's basketball program to score 1,000 career points in the men's basketball victory over Norwich University on February 18th.

University on February 18th.
Bertanza entered the contest needing nine points to reach the
1,000 point plateau, and got there 1:05 into the second half. After
tallying 8 points in the opening half, Bertanza wasted no time in
the second half, taking a pass from Nate DiSessa and drilling
a transition three pointer from the left wing to give him 1,002 for
his career.
Bertanza, a junior from Seymour, CT leads the Lasers in scoring at
20.1 ppg and has scored 482 points in 24 games this season. After
scoring 58 points in his freshman year, Bertanza transferred to
Lasell and his put up prolific scoring numbers ever since his
arrival on the Newton campus.
As a sophomore in 2010-11, he scored 470 points, for a 19.6 per
game average. The season highlight being a Lasell single game
record and NCAA season high 55 points in a 96-92 overtime loss at
St. Joseph's College(ME).
Bertanza is a career 44% shooter from the floor and 33% from three
point territory, while shooting over 70% from the line and has
averaged 19.8ppg during his two years at Lasell.
