SJC Hosts New Britain Unified Program
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Saint Joseph College Athletic Department played host to the New Britain Unified Sports/Career Ladder to Independence, Maturity and Beyond program (CLIMB) Thursday for the third time this school year.
The three year-old program, a part of the New Britain school district, provides opportunities for young adults aged 18-21 with special needs, by integrating them into the work force and community. It serves as a bridge between their education and role in the work force.
Saint Joseph College staff and athletes from all eight teams, through the school's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) ran instructive basketball and volleyball drills and competitive contests and games.
