GNAC Cross-Country Weekly Honors: October 4,2010

Brian Dinan (JWU), Heather Hoglund (Emerson) and James Vance (JWU) have earned GNAC Cross-Country weekly honors.

 

MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

James Vance, Johnson & Wales, Sr., Newton, MA

For the third consecutive week, Johnson & Wales James Vance has run away with the weekly honors. Vance ran the 8K course at the Pop Crowell Invitational in a time of 26:29, notching a second place finish while helping lead the Wildcats to a third-place finish overall at the 13 team event.

 

MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Brian Dinan, Johnson & Wales, Fr., Geneva, NY

Once again Brian Dinan earns rookie of the week after another incredible performance. The freshman earned a 20th place at the Pop Crowell Invitational with a time of 27:40, and assisted the Wildcats to a 3rd place finish.

 

WOMEN’S RUNNER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Heather Hoglund, Emerson, So., Groton, MA

Emmanuel’s rookie runner, Heather Hoglund, took both runner and rookie awards for this past week. Hoglund finished a remarkable 22nd of 276 runners at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College. Out of five GNAC teams and by fifteen places, Hoglund was the top GNAC finisher and led Emerson to the top finish out of the GNAC. The sophomore ran the 5K course in 20:07 setting a 6:29 mile pace.
