Johnson & Wales Captures Women's XC Championship
The JWU women's cross country team captured the 2010 Great Northest Athletic Conference Championship, held at St. Joseph's of Maine on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats finished with 54 team points which was 12 better than host St. Joseph's of Maine with 66 points.
The women's cross country team captured the 2010 Great Northest Athletic Conference Championship, held at St. Joseph's of Maine on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats finished with 54 team points which was 12 better than host St. Joseph's of Maine with 66 points.
Sophomore Laura Furfaro (North Warren, N.J.) was once again the the top runner for JWU, finishing in third place with a time of 21:06 over the 5K course which earned her All-GNAC accolades. Junior Lindsay Panny (Nashua, N.H.) also earned All-GNAC honors for the Wildcats as she recorded a sixth place finish in a time of 21:34. Sophomore Allison Polaski (Fort Wayne, Ind.) was in 11th place with a time of 22:04 while junior Kathleen Restino (Kennett Square, Pa.) followed close behind and recorded a time of 22:17 for a 12th place finish.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, November 6th
when they travel to ECAC Championship, hosted at Colt State Park in
Bristol, R.I.
