First Team All-Conference

Catherine Bravo, Johnson & Wales, Sr., Toa Baja, PR

The Wildcats’ Catherine Bravo was not only selected to first team all-conference, but also named the 2010 Offensive Player of the Year and the Tournament MVP. Bravo was also selected to the all-tournament team at the JWU Invitational and SUNY New Paltz Tournament. The senior surpassed 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in only 3 years of playing for the Wildcats. She led JWU in hitting percentage, kills, kills per game and service aces. Additionally, she recorded 10 triple doubles this season including five in conference play and added one quad double. The three-time GNAC player of the week this season had a .336 hitting average (6th) in the conference and ranked 2nd in GNAC kills. Bravo is a two-time NEWVA All-Region Selection, three-time GNAC all-conference, and two-time GNAC offensive player of the year.

 

Kenna Finlayson, Rivier, So., Derry, NH

Rivier’s Kenna Finlayson has been honored to the GNAC first team all-conference. The sophomore ranked 1st in the GNAC for kills, kill per set, and aces. On the Raiders, the Derry, NH native is 3rd on her team for blocks and also a primary passer and back row player. Finlayson had another major achievement this season when she was the second Raider to ever reach 400 kills in a season. Also Finlayson was a two-time GNAC Player of the Week for the 2010 season.

Emma Anderson, Johnson & Wales, Sr., Meriden, CT

The Wildcats’ Emma Anderson has been named to the GNAC first team all-conference. Anderson was a key player on the front row for JWU, hitting a .275 in conference and 2nd on the team in hitting percentage and 3rd in kills per game. The senior has been solid offensively and defensively for the Wildcats this season and also served as the back-up setter.

 

Emileigh Cenedella, Rivier, Jr., Townsend, MA

 Rivier’s Emileigh Cenedella has been honored as the 2010 Defensive Player of the Year and named to the first team GNAC all-conference. Cendella ranked 2nd in the GNAC for digs and 3rd in digs per set. The junior leads her team defensively as well by having the highest passing percentage and 2nd for ace serves on the Raiders. Cenedellal also made history this season when she became only the 3rd raider to ever reach 1,000 digs.

 

Katie Bailey, Emerson, Jr., Calabassas, CABailey

Emerson’s Katie Bailey has been named to the 2010 GNAC first team all-conference. Bailey is the Lions’ primary setter who ranks first on the team in assists and second in aces. Bailey is a great offensive player, and was awarded for her talent at the Gallaudet Tourney (Washington, DC) after being selected to the all-tournament team.

 

 

Devyn Frank, Mount Ida, So., Mystic, CT

Mount Ida’s Devyn Frank has been named to the GNAC first team all-conference. Frank has been a huge assest to the Mustangs all year. The sophomore middle blocker has a .433 hitting percentages, which is among the top percentages in the country. Frank has a mere 26 errors in 434 attempts for the season, is also a dominant blocker and ranks third in service aces for the Mustangs. Devyn Frank was also selected as the GNAC player of the week on Sept. 20th.
