GNAC Women's Swimming Weekly Honors: January 17, 2011

Devon DeGrazier (Elms College) and Ashley Kirchner (Elms College) both have received GNAC Women’s Swimming Weekly Honors.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Devon DeGrazier, Elms College, FR, Westport, Massachusetts

Devon DeGrazier of Elms College swam her way to five first place finishes during the week. She had outstanding performances against Bridgewater State and Mount Saint Mary College. DeGrazier vastly helped her team out with an incredible performance in the 200-yard medley relay team and the 200-yard free style relay team against Mount Saint Mary.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ashley Kirshner, Elms College, FR, Dalton, Massachusetts

As a rookie member of the Elms College swim team, freshman Ashley Kirshner set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time 1:06.33 and also picked up four first place finishes. The Dalton native also won the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley. She also greatly contributed to both the 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams.
