GNAC 2010 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team

Complete All-Conference and Sportsmanship Teams
First Team All-Conference
Forward –
Gabrielle Balestrier, Suffolk University, FR, Mohnton, PA
The Ram’s stellar freshman also earned the honor of being named the GNAC Rookie of the Year for 2010 along with being named to the First Team All-Conference. Finishing second on her team with a total of 15 goals scored, Balestrier also is currently ranked third with 43 points. More notably, the freshman currently ranked eighth in the nation with 13 assists and also is ranked 18th among the NCAA Division-III Women’s Soccer players with an average 2.69 points a game.
Forward- Taylor Miranda,
Suffolk University, FR, Smithtown, NY
Miranda, a freshman from Smithtown, New York, was honored as the GNAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year for 2010 along with being named to the First Team All-Conference. Miranda is currently ranked 12th among all the women of the NCAA Division-III Women’s Soccer Players in average points scored per game with a total of 2.88. She also concluded the 2010 season with 21 goals which ranks her 14th in the nation. Within 16 games, Miranda was able to attain eight multiple goal games and two hat tricks.
Forward – Brittany
Casey, Norwich University, SR, Pointe-Claire, Quebec
Norwich Cadet senior Brittany Casey has been selected to be on the First Team All-Conference for Women’s Soccer for the GNAC in 2010. The senior from Pointe-Claire, Quebec tallied 21 goals and four assists for the season which gave her a total of 46 points. More notably, seven of her goals were game-winning ones and she helped lead her Cadets to the GNAC Championship round of the GNAC Tournament in 2010.
Midfielder –
Justine Beauchamp, Simmons College, SO, Exeter, NH
Justine Beauchamp has been quite the standout for Simmons College in the 2010 season as she was named on to the First Team All-Conference. Beauchamp has led the team with 21 total points and has amassed seven goals and seven assists. The Exeter native was also the only one of the Simmons Sharks that started in all 17 matches this season.
Midfielder – Amber
Di Nucci, Emmanuel College, SR, New Bedford, MA
Amber Di Nucci, a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts was named as a member of the First Team All-Conference for the GNAC in 2010. This is Di Nucci fourth straight honor of making the GNAC first team. Di Nucci also reached 50 goals this season and makes her the second Emmanuel player to the scoring mark. Upon her graduation in May, Di Nucci will be the school’s all-time leader in assists with 42.
Midfielder –
Monica Wolf, Suffolk University, FR, Ballston Lake, NY
The Suffolk Rams also boast freshman Monica Wolf as another member of the First Team All-Conference for the GNAC in Women’s Soccer. Wolf was able to finish fourth in points for the Rams with a total 21and was also fourth in goals with a seven total scored. A major highlight in Wolf’s season is a multi-goal game that led her team to a 6-2 victory over St. Joseph’s College (Me.) Wolf managed two goals and two assists.
Midfielder –
Jordynn Frollo, Lasell College, JR, Uxbridge, MA
Jordynn Frollo, native of Uxbridge, Massachusetts was named a member of the First Team All-Conference for the 2010 season. This marks the second time that the junior for the Lasell Lasers has received All-Conference honors. Frollo has started in 47 of 54 contests so far in collegiate career. One of Frollo’s most notable moments was a late game score in the GNAC semi-finals of the GNAC Tournament that paved the way for the Lasers to make it to the Championship match for the first time in school history.
Defender – Kristin
Whitman, Saint Joseph CT, SO, South Windsor, CT
Whitman, the sophomore standout from Saint Joseph – Connecticut was named the 2010 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year for the GNAC along with being named to the First All-Conference Team. Whitman was an anchor at defense that led the conference in goals against, goal average and with nine total shutouts.
Defender – Sarah
Boudreau, Albertus Magnus College, JR, Pascoag, RI
Sarah Bourdeau, a junior for Albertus Magnus has been named to the 2010 First All-Conference Team for the GNAC. The junior has recorded another solid defensive season for the Falcons and was huge component of the team’s seven total shutouts for the season. The defensive player also attributed to three goals and a single assist.
Defender – Katie
Foley, Simmons College, SR, Rochester, NH
Katie Foley, the senior from Simmons College, started in all of the 15 games that she played in during the 2010 season and her performance in those games has led to her selection to the First Team All-Conference for the GNAC. Foley has also received All-Conference All-Academic Honors throughout her collegiate career.
Goalkeeper –
Elizabeth Stickley, Lasell College, JR, Mashpee, MA
Elizabeth Stickley, native of Mashpee, Massachusetts has earned All-Conference honors for the third time in her college career. This marks Stickley’s first time to be named to the First Team All-Conference. Stickley has produced an overall record of 6-2-1 and a GNAC record of 7-2-1 and also has recorded back-to-back shut out wins with five solo shutouts during GNAC matches. Stickley has accumulated 58 saves in 11 total matches and has averaged 5.27 saves per game.
Head Coach – Chris
LeGates, Saint Joseph (CT)
Chris LeGates was named by his GNAC Colleagues as the 2010 GNAC Coach of the Year. LeGates has received this award for the fourth time in his tenure of 14 seasons as a head coach. LeGates led the Blue Jays to a 14-4-1 season and helped them reach the GNAC Tournament semifinals for the fourth time in five season.
